Citi says foreign investors see Russian invest climate comfortable

MOSCOW, Apr 5 (PRIME) -- Investors from the U.S., the U.K., and Japan see the Russian investment climate comfortable thanks to lower inflation and interest rates, Citi said in a research note on Wednesday.

“We have met with investors from three continents over the past three weeks, and we exchanged opinions on the Russian economy. The major topic was persisting comfort of investors against the background of macroeconomic stabilization, prudent government policies, and the process of deflation,” the bank said.

These facts are demonstrated by the market of OFZ bonds. The central bank says that non-residents bought almost 100 billion rubles of OFZ bonds in January, and the share of Russian bonds owned by non-residents increased to 28.1%, the research note read.
